New International Routes 5/21/08

Flights to Asia will end soon - but we have some new destinatons for the Summer. A new slate of international flights has been developed and will be released soon with segments to Rio, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, and others!

Fuel Planning 4/23/08

One of the most useful tools on the AeroTexas website is FuelJabber - the flight simulation fuel planner. It was designed specifically for aircraft supported at ATX, and estimates fuel use and reserves for flights between airports. FuelJabber now supports 24 different aircraft, and calculates diversion, holding and contingency fuel, estimated time enroute, and even reserve fuel time, and time-to-empty.

Connecting Flights 4/20/08

If you logged a flight recently you may have noticed some new information about connecting flights. Connecting flights allow active members to fly from point-to-point anywhere there is a connection. Connections may include airports in the regular schedule, as well as temporary segments created by dispatchers. This feature should really open up a lot of new places for active members. Each month our cargo and charter dispatchers issue literally hundreds of new routes that are listed only for a short amount of time - for example, new cargo routes are typically issued on an hourly basis, and new round-trip charter segments pop up daily. You can only see connections after you log a flight, so file those reports and look for new places to fly every day.

We even have a google gadget that combines all four news feeds into one handy tabbed area that you can display on your iGoogle home page! Click on NOTAMS, and then the RSS icon in the upper right to locate these utilities.

New Routes! 1/21/08

AeroTexas is pleased to announce significant changes to National and Charter operations. The National Service structure has been completely revamped with six new flights departing Austin every day. We have also added a new set of routes called National Plus, which is based on exploratory flights made by AeroTexas members. Over in the Charter lounge you probably noticed a few days ago that things were changing, and now it's all final - we now offer "The Daily Flight", which is a random round trip between two Part 139 airports. Also we have added the "Austin Triple Leg Tour", which is just what it sounds like - you start at HQ, make two stops along the way, and return home in time to relax in the pool.

Remember, if you have a favorite route that AeroTexas does not offer, please make a few exploratory flights - we'll update the National Plus routes periodically based on what you've flown. The exploratory flight program is still open to all members who log 10 or more flights in any given month. After 10 flights you can fly anywhere you like.

A New Year for AeroTexas 1/5/08

We start the new year with a warm welcome to all of our new members. This year AeroTexas continues to bring Lone Star Service to the World, with a new international dispatch to Asia from long-time member, and fleet director, T. Wood, ATX02. This set of flights includes flights near Mt. Fuji, and some long-awaited island hopping.

Note - we just fixed a glitch in the new member application page. If you recently applied for membership and did not receive any response from our staff, then you should re-apply at your earliest convenience.

Year End Stats! Compared to 2006, last year AeroTexas members flew 87% more flights, logged more than twice as many hours, and carried more than 40 times the number of passengers! Amazing stuff. We also have an excellent on-timer performance recorded for 2007, even better than the 88.7% in 2006.
