desPlan's optimization engine is designed to compute a single rate of descent to reach a target altitude, and adjusts for the effects of altitude on true airspeed. Very nice for arriving at enroute waypoints at required altitudes such as crossing restrictions - enter altitude, air speed, and distance-to-go, and let desPlan calculate a single optimized rate of descent.
